Sharing my review of La Kantina during our trip to La Union.
La Kantina is a coffee shop located in Port San Juan in San Juan, La Union. If you are looking for a place to have good food and drinks such as pizza and pasta as well as cocktails and coffee, then you should consider La Kantina. It’s one of the highly suggested restaurants for casual dining with an easygoing vibe. In fact, if you search online or on social media for the best coffee shops in La Union, you will often find La Kantina in the top results.

Anyway, we got to try the coffee at La Kantina after our dinner at Port San Juan. We initially wanted to go to El Union, but it closes early at 6PM, so the next best option for us was La Kantina. It was a busy night for La Kantina during the time when we visited because it was full of diners. It was a small restaurant with wooden chairs and tables, and a bar. An old-fashioned stone/concrete oven was located on the side of the bar, and it was quite amusing to see the chef cooking pizza in it.
We were all craving coffee so that’s what we ordered. We mostly got iced Spanish latte because we wanted to have something sweet and cold. It was scorching hot outside the restaurant even if it was already evening, so an iced coffee drink would be perfect. When I tasted the iced Spanish latte, I thought it was delicious.

However, for the P170 per cup price, I would say that it was on the more expensive side considering that it was just a small cup, and almost half of the cup was ice. I finished it after just a few gulps; I was craving more coffee afterward. Just the same, I would still recommend visitors to La Union to try the food and coffee at La Kantina. Your La Union experience will not be complete without trying La Kantina.
