The 6 Best Samgyupsal Restaurants in Metro Manila

April 05, 2021

Here are six samgyupsal restaurants that we consider as the best in Metro Manila and even in provincial areas.

The popularity of samgyupsal (or samgyeopsal) restaurants among Filipino diners is undeniable. As proof of the popularity of these food outlets, if you google "samgyupsal near me," you have a very good chance of finding one just close by.

The 6 Best Samgyupsal Restaurants in Metro Manila

Before the COVID-19 pandemic happened, you would often hear groups of friends or families planning for a dinner in a samgyupsal restaurant. But even with the pandemic, unlimited Korean barbecue restaurants around Metro Manila and even outside continue to thrive.

While dine-in options might be limited or even suspended depending on the quarantine classification, samgyupsal fans can still opt for food pick-up or delivery.

    Our favorite samgyupsal restaurants

We love samgyupsal as well. If there’s one thing that I love about the Korean craze that took the Philippines by storm, it’s the food. Samgyupsal restaurants have popped up here and there and Korean convenience stores are just around the corner so it’s easy to enjoy Korean food when we crave it.

From the first time we tried Korean barbecue, we’ve already been eating regularly in samgyupsal restaurants. if dine-in isn’t possible, we’d buy samgyupsal, banchan, and ramyun from a Korean store near our place and cook them at home.

Anyway, here are 5 restaurants that we consider as the best samgyupsal restaurants in Metro Manila:

    1. Romantic Baboy

At the top of our list is Romantic Baboy. It’s our favorite samgyupsal restaurant because we love the quality of the meat that they serve, plus the banchan servings are always abundant.

We also consider Romantic Baboy’s kimchi as the best among the Korean barbecue restaurants that we tried. On top of that, the service is fast and efficient, and doesn’t feel like the servers were shortchanging us whenever we asked for refills.

Lastly, Romantic Baboy’s price of P499 which includes unlimited meat and side dishes is already a bargain.

For the complete list of Romantic Baboy’s branches and our full review, please read this post: The Ultimate List of Romantic Baboy Branches [2023 Update, Menu, & Review].

    2. Samgyupsalamat

Samgyupsalamat is our second favorite samgyupsal restaurant and also a good choice if you want a high-quality Korean barbecue. It’s the very first samgyupsal restaurant that we tried and we quickly fell in love with it. We had to fall in line for around 30 minutes or so but it was worth it.

What we love at Samgyupsalamat are the unlimited delicious marinated meat choices and the plentiful sidings for a price of P499. Samgyupsalamat’s kimchi is noteworthy, at least in the first restaurant that we tried. However, the kimchi in the second Samgyupsalamat restaurant where we ate was not as good as the first.

All in all, the experience at Samgyupsalamat is generally good but it can get inconsistent in other outlets where the queue can really build up and the restaurant itself can get too crowded.

For the complete list of Samgyupsalamat’s branches and our full review, please read this post: The Complete List of Samgyupsalamat Branches + Review.

    3. All4U Unlimited Grill & Shabu-Shabu

One of the most recent samgyupsal restaurants that we tried is All4U Unlimited Grill & Shabu Shabu. Metro Manila was already in quarantine when we ate at All4U so it’s worth noting that the restaurant adheres to strict health protocols such as getting customer information, providing alcohol sprays, and limiting the number of people who can dine in.

The food at All4U is good but what sets it apart is that customers can enjoy unlimited delicious soup (shabu-shabu), on top of the unlimited meat options and shrimps.

What is notable about All4U is the promos that they offer. When Khris and I ate here, we enjoyed the happy hour promo plus the birthday promo so we enjoyed a total discount of around P480.

    4. nice two Meat u

First off, I’d like to clarify that nice two Meat u doesn’t offer unlimited samgyupsal although the side dishes can be enjoyed as much as you can. That said, it’s still an awesome choice for high-quality meat and side dishes for a price of P1,749 (may vary depending on the set meal that you will choose).

The only way that I can describe nice two Meat u is that it serves premium quality cuts of meat that is cooked in cast iron grills. On top of that, the server will cook the meat for you so you won’t have anything to do but sit back, relax, and enjoy your meal.

    5. Sambo Kojin

Sambo Kojin is another unlimited Japanese yakiniku and Korean barbecue restaurant that offers some of the best food choices in Metro Manila. Sambo Kojin is actually a full buffet restaurant that happens to offer a variety of Western and Asian cuisines and that includes samgyupsal.

    Sambo Kojin

The price of the buffet package at Sambo Kojin is higher at around P1,500 per head as compared to the other restaurants on this list but that is understandable because, again, this is a buffet restaurant.

For my full review of Sambo Kojin, please read this post: Sambo Kojin: Delicious Unlimited Yakiniku and Korean Barbecue.

    6. UKB 199

I decided to include UKB 199 in this list because it offers a good price for its unlimited samgyupsal packages. At P199, you can enjoy beef, pork, and side dishes like lettuce leaves, fish cakes, and kimchi as much as you want.

    UKB 199

I understand that UKB 199 has mixed reviews from diners but I guess it all boils down to setting your expectations when you do plan to eat here. At P199, don’t expect the same caliber as Romantic Baboy and Samgyupsalamat from UKB 199. However, that doesn’t mean that they are serving rubbish as other people claim.

The food is okay; the pork might be a little fatty but there is enough meat that you can enjoy. The same goes for the beef; it’s not of the best cut but they’re just fine.

    Epilogue

These are what I consider as the best samgyupsal restaurants in Metro Manila and even in provincial locations. What is good about these unlimited samgyupsal restaurants is that their rates are relatively more affordable as compared to regular buffet restaurants and the food is just as delicious.

Very curious tlaga ako sa samgyupsal. Anu ba ang meron dyan> is that a korean hype food? or related to Keto diet? Even my mom is so addict with samgyupsal every week ata nasa restaurant kaya curious tlaga ako, dito hindi sya masyadong hype...

I miss samgyupsal get-togethers with my friends! I'm in Bicol so our options are pretty limited, so this list has made me crave even more! A few cousins of mine tried Romantic Baboy before and it seems like they truly loved it! Once this pandemic passes, I'll be coming back to this list to try 'em all!

Perfect list! Grabe I miss samgyup already. My fave are Romantic Baboy and Samgyupsalamat. When the pandemic ends, you should also try Gen Q Korean BBQ. Their selection is delicious :)

I love Samgyup! But my favourite now is the one that we DIY at home, hehe. We realized it's not that hard, and even if we don't have the equipment, our stone pan can take its place.
