How To Make Cauliflower Nuggets

These cauliflower nuggets are just bite-sized versions of our cauliflower chops. However, these are dipped in eggs and seasoned with salt, pepper, herbs, and spices for more savory bites.

These are so simple to make that I am quite embarrassed to even call or consider this a recipe. Nonetheless, I will teach you how to prepare them. We like to serve them as a side dish at home but I bring this with me to the office for my lunch and eat it with rice. They are so good that your kids and your whole family will love them.

Start by preparing the following ingredients:

    • Two heads of good quality cauliflower. They should be firm, brightly colored, not wilted, and must not have soft patches or discolorations.
    • Two medium-sized eggs
    • Salt and pepper. You can also use any herb or spices of your choice like garlic powder, dried oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper, and rosemary. Since cauliflower has a mild taste, it will complement any flavor that you add to it.
    • Two tablespoons of cooking oil

For the kitchen equipment, you would need a frying pan, a spatula, a bowl, a fork, and a plate.

Here's how to make this recipe:

Clean the cauliflower by washing it twice in water. Tear the flowers by hand into bite-sized pieces. If there are tender leaves and stems, you can reserve this for stir-fries.

Once you are done preparing the cauliflower, break two medium-sized eggs in a bowl and beat them. Season with salt and pepper. You can further enhance the flavor by adding garlic powder, paprika, cayenne powder, dried oregano, or any herb or spices of your choice.

If you want a purely vegan recipe, you can skip the egg and use any corn-starch or flour of your choice, dissolve it in water, and add the seasonings. You will even yield crunchier cauliflower nuggets using this method.

Heat around two tablespoons of cooking oil in a frying pan. Once the oil is hot, dip the cauliflower pieces in the egg and seasoning mixture, and fry them. They are done once the cauliflower nuggets acquire a golden brown color. Drain the excess oil using paper towels.

Serve them hot with tomato ketchup or a mayo-garlic dipping sauce. You can also add the cauliflower nuggets to your salad and pasta, or as sides to your roast.
