A Madagascar-Themed Party for Miguel’s 7th Birthday

Last January, we celebrated Miguel’s 7th birthday by organizing a Madagascar-themed party at McDonald’s on Quirino Highway. Well, actually, we just got one of the party packages offered by McDo and that is the theme that we chose. However, we wanted to add some personal touch to Miguel’s party, so we still added some Madagascar and Safari-themed items like Miguel’s birthday cake, loot bags, and toy giveaways.

Why did we choose McDonald’s? For one, we wanted Miguel’s 7th birthday to be special. I know that in the Philippines, 7th birthdays are traditionally observed as a milestone in the life of a child.

And then the other reason for choosing McDo is the convenience that they offer. What we love about the McDonald’s party package was that you wouldn’t have to worry about the program, hosts, food, giveaways, games, and venue. At the same time, you have some leeway for customization so it’s practical. The staff was easy to deal with, so we were able to settle everything without the hassle.

On the day of Miguel’s birthday party, we arrived at the venue earlier so that we could still set up. When we got there, the backdrop, balloons, and giveaways were already arranged. We just set the cake and cupcakes on the table and also placed the additional loot bags on the long table.

The program began with the usual prayer and then we proceeded with the games in which both adult and children visitors can participate. I think we had around three to four games before the food was served.

No party is complete without a mascot. After eating, our host introduced a “special guest” who will do a dance number for the guests – Grimace! Of course, the kids were ecstatic when they saw this purple mascot come out.

After Grimace’s dance number, it was time for us to give a message to Miguel as well as his guests.

For the last portion of Miguel’s 7th birthday party, it was time to distribute the giveaways to his guests and classmates.

All in all, it was a Sunday afternoon well spent with loved ones and friends.
