Surprisingly Fun Time at Enchanted Kingdom (Even If It Was A Company Outing)

A few months ago, we had a company activity at Enchanted Kingdom. To be honest, I wasn’t too excited about it, especially because I felt it was still connected to my work. I figured I might not be able to enjoy it anyway because I’d be spending the day with my bosses and senior executives. I mean, who enjoys company outings? Not me, I’d rather take my family out. But it becomes bearable if you have office friends.

While I do love looking at Ferris Wheels, I usually don't like riding them

Additionally, I felt that I was too old for theme parks, and to top it all, I wasn’t too fond of heights. I don’t like roller coasters and Ferris wheels. The only redeeming factor was that it was on a Friday and all of my office friends were going, anyway, so it wouldn’t feel like work.

When the designated day arrived, we hitched a ride with another office friend’s car and prayed that traffic would be heavy (we really didn’t want to go). To our dismay, we arrived at Enchanted Kingdom in less than two hours since it wasn’t rush hour anymore. Since we got our tickets in advance, we didn’t have to fall in line anymore.

Log Jam: the most bearable EK ride

Enchanted Kingdom looked both familiar and strange; it was like how I remembered it, but I somehow imagined it to be bigger than it currently was. Surprisingly, the mood at Enchanted Kingdom was more relaxed and light; thus, we decided to make the most of the situation and just have a good time. It was a good decision because we genuinely enjoyed the food and the riders. We were also given free Wizard Money that we could spend on food and refreshments.

We started at Log Jam, just because my officemates knew that I hated heights, and it was the most bearable ride for me. It was still nerve-wracking for me because of the sudden drops. Anyway, I thought it was just fine (and fun) because we even rode it for a second time (which I rode with our CEO).

From the Log Jam, we also rode Anchors Away. I didn’t want to do it, but I eventually gave in to my friends’ prodding because they said I could sit in the middle and not feel the height too much. I disagree; it was still too much for me. We spent the rest of the afternoon just strolling around and trying to cool down from the intense afternoon heat.

By late afternoon, we decided to have one last ride before heading home. We lined up at the Rio Grande Rapids so that we could all ride together. It was fun, but we all ended up wet.

All in all, it was an enjoyable time at Enchanted Kingdom. We had a wonderful time at Enchanted Kingdom.
