Office Lunch Series: Jones All Day in BGC

If you are looking for a cozy bistro in BGC that serves good breakfast food and pastries, then you might want to consider Jones All Day on the ground floor of Serendra. I have eaten here twice together with my officemates and I would say the experience was good in both occasions.

Steak, Rice, & Egg from Jones All Day
Steak, Rice, & Egg

During my first visit to Jones All Day, I ordered Steak, Egg, and Rice. It’s composed of slices of steak (U.S beef top blade), steak fat fried rice, an egg yolk, and homemade steak sauce served on a skillet. In terms of doneness, I asked for it to be cooked medium well. I regretted it though because it wasn’t as tender as I hoped it to be. I guess at most, it should be cooked to a medium doneness. Nonetheless, I still found the meat to be flavorful, and it went well with the steak fat fried rice.

I’m not such a huge fan of steak sauce but I tried a bit of it to see how it tasted . Well, as in any other steak sauce, it was tangy. Using the steak sauce would ultimately boil down on your preference. The egg yolk was fresh but you can mix it into the fried rice to cook it.

Crispy Bangus from Jones All Day
Crispy Bangus

On a different occasion, I tried Mr. Jones' Filipino Breakfast of crispy smoked bangus, garlic rice, 2 cage-free eggs (you can ask for it to be scrambled), achara, and slices of orange. The crispy smoked bangus was enjoyable to eat. It was deep fried but it still retained the delicious smoky flavors of tinapang bangus. I also like the achara on the side to cut the richness of the bangus and the eggs. It was a filling meal which I also enjoyed. If you love smoked bangus, you will also appreciate this classic Filipino breakfast favorite.

All in all, I like the cozy ambiance and slow vibe inside Jones All Day. It’s a restaurant that you would enjoy after a quiet stroll in BGC or maybe even a weekend date.
