Zubuchon Eton Centris: Still The Phenomenal Lechon That We Know

February 17, 2022

Sharing our experience during our visit to Zubuchon Eton Centris.

We recently had a quick Valentine’s date at Zubuchon’s Eton Centris branch because we honestly missed the restaurant chain’s famous Cebu lechon. We also had a gift certificate, a remainder from the amount I won during Zubuchon’s Valentine’s Day promo around four years ago, which we used as an excuse to finally eat at Zubuchon again. It brought back a lot of memories from years ago when we frequently dined with friend’s at the restaurant’s Makati branch. Above all, the food is still as good as we remembered it.

Zubuchon Eton Centris: Still The Phenomenal Lechon That We Know

Our experience at Zubuchon Eton Centris

I think Zubuchon Eton Centris is one of the brand’s most recent outlets. You can tell that by how the lobby and the interiors looked. It also seemed spacious but it was maybe because there were just a handful of diners that time. Everything looked clean, which is consistent with the other Zubuchon branches.

In terms of the service, I also like that the restaurant personnel were consistently efficient. The same is also true for the other branches.

When we arrived, we were asked to show our vaccination cards. We were then ushered to our seats and our orders were taken. Again, the staff were very helpful and attentive. The restaurant manager also asked us if we were going to use our gift certificate, just because he saw Mommy Khris holding it.

All in all, it was a pleasant experience. The ambiance was quite relaxing because it was around 3:00PM and there weren’t many people around. There was less scampering and there were no noises.

What we ordered at Zubuchon Eton Centris

We ordered our usual favorites: boneless lechon, baked scallops, and gambas. We also tried new items like stir fried vegetables, cassava cake, leche flan, and the tamarind juice.

The boneless lechon is still phenomenal. I think I don’t need to say much about this especially if you have also tried it yourself.

The gambas is also delicious. I like the smoky flavor of the paprika that went well with the garlic in the olive oil sauce. I couldn’t help myself from pouring this sauce over warm rice.

I also like that the stir fried vegetables are very crisp and fresh. I saw that the sauce had bits of lechon skin and meat, which made this dish really flavorful.

As for the dessert, we loved the classic taste of the cassava cake which was served warm. The leche flan, meanwhile, seemed like the odd man out from the group because it tasted very ordinary. There are far better versions sold in my former office.

Just the same, we really enjoyed the food and our time at Zubuchon Eton Centris. We didn’t finish all the lechon, of course, so we had the rest wrapped and brought home.

    Epilogue

Since tasting Zubuchon lechon in 2017, I have always been a fan. I’ve considered it to be the best lechon in the country. The meat is tender and flavorful and the meat is consistently crunchy. The branches always have a welcoming ambiance and the service is efficient.
