Hotdish: Delicious Food Fit For Any Occasion At Home
Our experience with Hotdish
We finally got to try the food at Hotdish when we celebrated Miguel’s birthday at home. I’ve long heard about Hotdish and I was quite surprised to find out
that it’s just located along Commonwealth Avenue in Fairview, Quezon City.
Hotdish is best-known for its pancit sisig so I had that as my top priority
when we finally got to order food.

Even before the pandemic, Hotdish has been used to taking orders and delivering food to as far as Makati City and in other parts of Metro Manila. Since we were just in Quezon City,
Khris and I were confident that Hotdish would be able to deliver our orders
fast and on time, which was what happened.

Ordering was also easy. We sent a text message for our initial inquiry then we proceeded to place our orders, paid the bill, and agreed on the delivery date and time.
We used GCash for paying, which was a really efficient payment option even before the pandemic happened. Take note that the minimum order for delivery is P500. If your orders are lower than P500 though, you would have to pick up the food yourself.
Our orders were delivered at our agreed time and date. We liked that the food
was still hot, possibly because they were sealed in carton boxes, and
fresh.
As soon as I began opening the packaging, the aroma of the food wafted in our
dining room.
What we ordered at Hotdish
Hotdish’s menu is composed of pork, beef, chicken, fish and vegetables, pasta,
noodles/pancit, empanada, and native desserts and dipping sauces. The food
items that Hotdish offers are what we can typically expect from a Filipino food delivery service
like lumpiang shanghai, sisig, pork barbecue, fried chicken, and beef caldereta,
to name a few.

However, what really struck me in Hotdish’s menu was its pancit selections.
Aside from pancit guisado, there is pancit sisig, pancit tapa, and pancit
lechon kawali for even richer and more sinful noodle options.
We ordered Pancit Sisig (L, P960), Premium Meatballs (L, P640), Fish Fillet
Tempura (L, P790), and Pork Empanada (six pieces, P195).
We liked the quantity of the servings of the food. They were plentiful and
perfect for a big family like ours.
I was most excited to try Hotdish’s pancit sisig. I’ve read good reviews about
it and I do love sisig, which I would eat when there is an opportunity to do
so.
What I liked about the pancit sisig was how delicious it smelled. It had the aroma of freshly-cooked sizzling sisig which was no less than mouth-watering. The sisig on top of it was chunky, crunchy, and generous. The amount of sisig looked like it was more
than one sizzling plate.
Overall, it was delicious, I thought that the sisig was just a topping but the noodles tasted like it. It was too rich though that I ended eating it with rice.
We also loved the premium meatballs because they were big and meaty. It came with a sweet and sour sauce and they went together really well. This is
comfort food which is nice to have even on ordinary weekends.

I can also say the same about the pork empanada. It’s delicious, meaty, and the pastry is flaky and not stiff. It’s comfort food that I can eat over and
over again.
The Fish Fillet Tempura, meanwhile, was a little soggy. It would’ve been better if it were served right out of the frying pan so that the batter would be crispy. However, it wasn’t able to achieve that light crunch we come to expect and love from tempura.

That’s understandable though because of the transport time of the fish tempura. What we did was fry the fish fillet again
to achieve the crunch that we wanted.
Epilogue
All in all, Hotdish is a great option especially nowadays when most celebrations are done at home. Hotdish serves delicious and hearty Filipino food, and they
deliver within Metro Manila if you meet their minimum order of P500.
To top it all, all the food at Hotdish are reasonably-priced and you can
choose from different serving sizes that suit your needs.

It makes me so curious to try it. The prices are affordable and I like that they have payment options like gcash which is really very convenient to use.
