There is nothing more romantic than a nice dinner by the seashore with the calming sound of the waves at Discovery Shores Boracay.
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary in a very romantic fashion at Discovery Shores Boracay by having dinner by the beachfront. It was just a simple meal but definitely an experience that Khris and I enjoyed and have wonderful memories about.

We had originally intended to have dinner at Fridays Boracay in Station 1. However, when we got there, we were told by the restaurant's staff that they were only serving buffet food that evening.
We actually considered to avail of the dinner buffet even if there were only a few items that we liked but we were again informed that it was closing in an hour. We went here for a special occasion so a rushed dinner is definitely out of the question. As such, off we went to find another restaurant.

It was a good thing that Discovery Shores Boracay was just nearby. We saw that there were a few people casually eating outside, hence, we thought it a good idea to try it here.
When we inquired with a hotel staff, we were initially told that al fresco dining was for their semi-fine dinner set only. If we were to order their regular dinner set, we can only eat the food inside the hotel.
It was good though that they eventually allowed us outside when we told them that we were celebrating a special occasion. The soft lights, the cool sea breeze blowing and the waves gently pattering added all the more to the romantic vibe of the place.

Food at Discovery Shores Boracay
We ordered Crispy Baby Squids for appetizers, Greek Salad, and Aglio Olio pasta. It was already quite late so we opted for a light dinner. We were informed by the restaurant server that our orders will arrive in 15 minutes or so. It did not take long though before our food arrived, in fact, it was earlier than the 15 minutes that our server told us about.

First to arrive was the crispy baby squid appetizer. It was cooked fresh and crunchy with just the right thickness of batter. It was really good especially with a dash of lemon. What was also good about it was that it did not have the usual starchy taste that is characteristic of similar dishes.
A few minutes after the crispy baby squid was served, the Greek Salad came out next. It was also good but it was nothing extraordinary. We liked it thought that it had generous sprinklings of creamy feta cheese.
Last to be served was the Aglio Olio pasta. The simplicity of flavors makes this pasta dish a winner. The al dente pasta is dressed well with olive oil, garlic, and parsley. Chili flakes were sprinkled on top of the heap, providing it with just the right level of heat. This Aglio Olio pasta was perfect for sharing.

But above everything else, what really made our experience unforgettable and special was the service. The gentleman serving us was very fast, attentive, efficient and very accommodating. It was just a pity that I could not recall his name.
Our verdict
We went away that night fully satisfied and happy with the food as well as the overall experience in this hotel. Given the chance, we definitely would also want to check in and stay at Discovery Shores Boracay.
