Our Wonderful Experience At The Lobby Lounge - Makati Shangri-La [Review]

Khris and I have been to the Lobby Lounge of Makati Shangri-La many times and, on those occasions, we were treated out by my sister-in-law. As such, it's always a fun family affair for us when we eat at the Lobby Lounge of Makati Shangri-la.

Our Wonderful Experience At The Lobby Lounge - Makati Shangri-La [Review]

What sets the Lobby Lounge apart from other restaurants in Makati Shangri-La?

The Lobby Lounge is a cozy place to hang out because you can dress casually and relax while listening to a live lounge singer sing love songs accompanied by either a piano or a saxophone. In the afternoon, guests can hear the orchestra playing a piece of nice music.

The walls feature large glass windows that provide a view of the lush garden outside as well as the man-made waterfalls. The Lobby Lounge of Makati Shangri-La is ideal for business luncheons, family meals, and even romantic dinner dates.

It's not like Makati Shangri-La's Pool Bar, which is extremely casual, and Sage Bar is a little formal. The Lobby Lounge is somewhere in between these two.

The food at the Lobby Lounge

The menu is composed mainly of light snacks, sandwiches, noodles, and pasta. Of course, if you want a heavy meal, you can also order rice meals. For drinks, there are light refreshments available as well as cocktails and other alcoholic beverages.

When we eat at the Lobby Lounge of Makati Shangri-La, we always order our favorites. These are the Club Sandwich and the Pancit Bihon.

The Club Sandwich is a huge sandwich filled with layers of lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, ham, bacon, and scrambled eggs. The combination of the different fillings gives it different layers of flavors.

What I like about it is that it's not dry, unlike other similar sandwiches I've tried. The bacon that they use for it tastes really good and is of high quality -- smoky and honey-cured.

Meanwhile, the Pancit Bihon, or sauteed rice noodles, is another filling one-dish meal. It's filled with shrimps, vegetables, squid balls, and topped with big chunks of chicharon. This is one tasty and rich version of pancit bihon.

The Lobby Lounge of Makati Shangri-La boasts grandeur and luxury, hence the price of the items.

    Our verdict

The last time we were here, we were seated near the lounge singer so we got to enjoy great music. The ambiance is very relaxing with the soft lights. The service is good and fast.

When dining here, save around P1,500 to P2,000 for two people. It's a perfect place for celebrating special occasions and milestones. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted forms of payment at the Lobby Lounge.

The Makati Shangri-La is located at Ayala Avenue corner Makati Avenue, Makati City, 1200, Philippines. For inquiries and reservations, you may call telephone number (63 2) 8813 8888.
