The Pousada Marina Infante Hotel in Macau

The Pousada Marina Infante Hotel is possibly one of the most affordable hotels in Macau. While it is nowhere near the caliber of five-star hotels nearby, it does not feel like you are staying in a budget hotel at all.

How to book a room at the Pousada Marina Infante Hotel

We booked an overnight stay directly through the hotel’s website. However, I do suggest that you check Agoda if you want to get the best price:

Our experience at the Pousada Marina Infante Hotel

We stayed at the Pousada Marina Infante Hotel during our first night in Macau. From the Macau International Airport, we took a cab going to the hotel. Upon seeing the façade of the hotel, there was no denying that it was an old hotel. Nonetheless, it was clean, well-kept, and looked comfortable.

Since it was already late in the evening when we arrived, check in was a breeze. The hotel personnel were kind enough to accommodate our questions while we were checking in. After our room keys were handed to us, we proceeded to our room.

Our room had the standard amenities such as a widescreen LCD television, a mini bar, a personal refrigerator, a study, and a clean bathroom with the usual toiletries. We could not get a room with a single bed though, so we settled for one with two separate beds.

While we were booking this room, we asked for a room with a nice view of the Galaxy Macau Hotel and the booking personnel was kind enough to accommodate our request. The view from our room -- the neighboring grand hotels as well as the cityscape – was absolutely stunning.

If you also like to have a similar view when you stay at the Pousada Marina Infante Hotel, don’t hesitate to tell it to the booking staff of the hotel.

Food at the Pousada Marina Infante Hotel

Our accommodation package came with a standard breakfast buffet at the Pousada’s Lakeview Cafe located at the ground floor. The breakfast buffet was a nice spread of rice -- both steamed and fried, pastries, eggs, breakfast meats, vegetables, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit juices, and overflowing coffee. Food was good although there was nothing exceptional in the menu, save for the bacon and congee which Khris and I both loved.

What we also liked about the Pousada Marina Infante Hotel was that all the drinks in the fridge were free. That includes all canned soda and fruit juices. Of course, bottled water is complimentary in any hotel so you may ask for water anytime of the day or night.

The hotel's room service is good and the staff is friendly. Even if you call them late at night, you would still get the same quality of service as during daytime. In our first night in Macau, we were hungry from our evening flight. We ordered club sandwich via room service and it arrived within 20 minutes.

The sandwich was good and filling, the layers of meat, cheese, and eggs provided different dimensions of flavor to each bite.

The Pousada Marina is perfect for those who are in search of a great hotel that offers value for money. No doubt, we'd stay here again when we get the chance to visit Macau.

Note though that while the Pousada Marina Infante Hotel has a shuttle bus that takes guests to and from the airport as well as to nearby hotels, there are no bus routes going to Macau’s tourist spots. As such, you would have to go to nearby hotels to avail of the free bus rides.
