Family Fun at Ohana Hot Spring Resort in Los Banos, Laguna [Travel Tips + Review]

The month of December is a unique time for our family because, aside from Christmas, we are looking forward to four birthday celebrations all in the first week. For this year, we decided to have an overnight staycation at Ohana Hot Spring Resort in Los Banos, Laguna. We enjoyed are trip to Los Banos 2 years ago; it was also a hot spring resort and the water was wonderful. We loved it and didn’t have to worry about the water being too cold (although cold water has never been an issue to kids).

How to go to Ohana Hot Spring Resort

It was a straight ride from Skyway to SLEX. We exited at Calamba and followed the direction of the Pan Philippine Highway, Bucal Express Road, Manila South Road, and entered Lakewood Subdivision. Just a tip, most resorts have a check out time of 4:00 PM.

As such, expect heavy traffic because of the many vehicles on the road during this time. I think Los Banos can also be considered a resort town because of the many private hot spring resorts located here. If not for the hot spring, we wouldn’t have braved the heavy traffic. Well, it was our fault anyway because we underestimated the travel time.

What we liked in Ohana Hot Spring Resort

Of course, we came here for the hot spring resort, and it didn’t disappoint. The water was great. I noticed that it didn’t have a chlorine smell, and I found out the next day that they drained and replaced the water after every guest.

The temperature can also be adjusted by controlling the flow of the water. There was one big pool for adults and two pools for kids (the other one is a jacuzzi, actually). As usual, the kids kept on ignoring us whenever we called them to eat.

We also booked two family rooms and one smaller single room. One of the family rooms was good for twelve people and the other one was good for eight. The beds were double decks. Pillows were included but we had to bring our own blankets. There were two bathrooms in the bigger room while there was one in the smaller one. The air conditioning was also strong, so we had a good rest.

The kitchen included free use of the pans, the stove, grill, and the refrigerator. There was one free container of drinking water (P65 pesos for succeeding refills). In terms of the other amenities, there was a karaoke and a billiard table.

I just hope that they can improve the tiles because it was too slippery for a resort. I mean, if you have a resort, you have to anticipate that kids would be there and they would eventually run even if you told them not to and even if you were watching them.

In fact, all of the kids who were with us during that time slipped. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this resort. The caretaker was very kind and helpful. He even assisted us by waiting for us at the Los Banos welcome arch and accompanied us through a short cut.

    Epilogue

    Ohana Hot Spring Resort Laguna

All in all, we had a wonderful time at Ohana Hot Spring Resort. The drive was smooth, but we should’ve left earlier to avoid the heavy traffic. Otherwise, Ohana Hot Spring Resort is a wonderful private stay in Los Banos, Laguna that is perfect for a family staycation.
