Our Post-Valentine Family Lunch at Manam SM City Fairview

Sharing our family lunch experience at Manam SM City Fairview.

We wanted to have a Valentine’s Day date with our kids (nag delivery dinner date na kasi kami ni Mommy sa house) but since it was a weekday, we decided to just have a Post-Valentine family lunch at SM City Fairview the following weekend. We wanted something delicious and special, so we decided to eat at Manam. It’s one of our favorite Filipino restaurants and we also wanted our kids to enjoy good food since we were celebrating Heart’s Day.

We ordered Patis Wings, Garlicky Chicken Adobo, Crispy Palabok, Pork Sisig, Pork Sinigang, Fried Bangus, and Kare-Kare. It was a combination of what we reckon were kid-friendly food options plus, of course, many of our favorites.

Let me start off with the Patis Wings because the kids really loved this one. Rafa said it was spicy but Mommy Khris said it was good. Kuya Miguel also loved it, however, it was just 4 or 6 pieces which was why he couldn’t have seconds.

Aside from the Patis Wings, the children also liked the Garlicky Chicken Adobo. For those who love garlic, then this dish is definitely for you. The chicken pieces are literally coated with fried garlic bits, which Kuya Miguel liked because he loves crunchy garlic bits.

As for me, it was my idea to order the Crispy Palabok. We always ordered this whenever we had an office lunch out, so it somehow became a habit for me. Nevertheless, Manam’s Crispy Palabok is rich and flavorful, I can eat this all the time.

I also like Manam’s Pork Sisig – it’s crunchy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. When eating Pork Sisig, dapat laging may rice. Para sa akin, parang hindi kumpleto ang sisig pag walang rice.

It was also my first time to try Manam’s kare-kare. This was also delicious; the sauce had the right balance of creaminess and nutty flavor. I like that it also had generous pieces of ox tripe and vegetables, and the bagoong was not too salty.

I wasn’t able to try the Pork Sinigang, but I’m sure they were also good since the kids loved the soup. As for the Fried Bangus, hindi ko na rin ito na-try pero nagustuhan din naman ito ni Kuya Miguel nung dinner time na (tinake out namin kasi).

All in all, we had an enjoyable family lunch at Manam’s.
