Wordless Wednesday: Pistachio Stardust Cake from Purple Oven

October 07, 2022

One of the best tasting cakes that I've tried is the Pistachio Stardust by Purple Oven.

October is my birth month. Incidentally, while I was browsing through my old photos, I found this photo of a Pistachio Stardust Cake from Purple Oven. This cake was sent to me by Mommy Khris as a birthday surprise in 2015 in my old office. I remember how happy I was that time to see that cake when it was delivered to my desk.

Moreover, I thought that it was one of the best-looking cakes that I’d ever seen. It was predominantly green in color, but I found that that color worked well for it. I mean, I never really imagined a green cake unless it was a kiddie jungle theme cake.

Just the same, it goes without saying that the Pistachio Stardust Cake is also delicious. If you love the rich nutty taste of pistachios, then this one is definitely for you. The outside is chunky because of the nuts while the layers of cake underneath are rich and moist and interspersed with layers of cream.

It’s a good contrast in texture which all the more adds to the great experience when eating Purple Oven’s Pistachio Stardust Cake. I shared the Pistachio Stardust Cake with my friends at the office and they loved it as well. It went perfectly well with freshly brewed black coffee.

On a further note, it makes me happy to see that Purple Oven is back in business. It’s one of the establishments affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Purple Oven had to temporarily close its branches but it has recently opened select branches.

Those branches are the following:

  • San Antonio Plaza Arcade, 50 McKinley Road, Forbes Park, Makati City
  • The Clubhouse at Temple Drive, Corinthian Hills, Quezon City
  • F'7 Building, 49 Scout Rallos, Quezon City
  • The Shops at Portico, Capt. Henry Javier Drive, Oranbo, Pasig City
  • Rockwell Santolan Town Plaza, 276 Santolan Road, Little Baguio, San Juan City

We used to regularly order from Purple Oven’s Makati City branch. That’s how we loved its pastries. Most of the time, it’s for special occasions but we do buy bread for our consumption at home. Now that Purple Oven is open again, I look forward to tasting their cakes again.
