Our experience at Seven Corners Restaurant

Despite the notoriously heavy traffic in Ortigas Center, Khris and I said yes to a friend's invitation for a lunch buffet at Seven Corners Restaurant.

We were drawn to Seven Corners Restaurant thanks to a Citibank credit card promo that offered attractive dine-in discounts, as well as the positive reviews about the restaurant. Thankfully, the traffic was bearable even if it were a Saturday when we went here.

The ambiance at Seven Corners Restaurant

We arrived just in time for our reservation. Seven Corners Restaurant leaves a good impression because of its spacious and bright interiors, as well as comfortable seats. The tables are adequately spaced to provide a little privacy for the different groups of diners.

What struck me most was how bright the interiors are because of the large glass windows that allowed natural light to illuminate the space. It felt welcoming and relaxing inside the restaurant.

    The food

The buffet spread in Seven Corners Restaurant is divided into seven interactive stations, namely Tandoori, Japanese, Western, Salad, Pizza Station, Dessert, and Asian noodles.

Personally, I would not consider it extensive but the food selection per station is just enough to keep guests satisfied. It's not overwhelming, which is good because it would then be easy to decide on which to pick.

    Cold section

One may begin with appetizers from the cold section -- a plate of salad, perhaps, cold mussels or smoked salmon. Yes, the shrimps and the mussels could be eaten cold or you can bring these to the grill station and have the chefs cook the seafood with garlic and butter.

There is also a Japanese section where one may get slivers of fresh salmon and tuna and Sashimi, as well as rolls of California Maki.

We enjoyed slices of the fresh salmon sashimi and some pieces of the California Maki.

    Grill station

After appetizers, we requested grilled shrimps, mussels, crabs, and salmon. These were cooked with butter which rendered a rich, almost sweet flavor to the meat of the seafood.

A meal at Seven Corners wouldn't be complete without a visit to the carving station. On display was a huge log of beef that is ready for the grill.

I requested for a serving which I asked to be cooked medium-well. One may choose from Herbed Sea Salt, Mint Jelly, Rosemary & Garlic, Dijon Mustard and Horseradish.

I went for the Dijon Mustard and added a siding of tasty potatoes and broccoli. The meat was very tender, juicy, and flavorful. The steak itself was enough reason to give this restaurant five stars.

We also helped ourselves to the crispy and wicked lechon belly and various selections of sausages. Rice and pasta are also available for those who want a heavy meal.

    Dessert

Dessert came next after our feast. Present at the dessert station were the usual panna cotta, carrot cake, and other familiar pastries. We were already full so we settled on fresh fruits and ice cream.
