If you are looking for a budget-friendly hotel in Subic that can accommodate a large group, consider booking at Subic Waterfront Resort & Hotel.
If there’s one place in the north that Khris and I love, it’s Subic in
Zambales. It’s like stepping into a different world because of its strict
implementation of traffic rules as well as the overall discipline in keeping
Subic clean and orderly. It’s a completely different world as compared to how it is in Metro Manila, especially when it comes to its orderliness.
Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel: An Affordable Accommodation
During the last time when we were in Subic some years ago, we stayed in Subic
Waterfront Resort and Hotel, probably one of the best accommodation choices when in Subic. The rooms are clean and it’s fairly affordable especially if
you are going there as a group.
Our experience at Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel
We checked in at Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel for Team Ynah’s (Khris’
workmates) annual October birthday bash a few years back. Since there were many members of Team Ynah (including me) whose birthday is in October, It’s an annual celebration that we love to observe because it gives us a good enough reason to go out of town.
Anyway, we booked, I think, a superior suite and two family suites in advance
at Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel and we liked that the hotel staff was
efficient in facilitating our reservation.
When we arrived at the hotel, it was an easy check-in. Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel is a two-star hotel so your expectations should be within that standard only. That being said, the hotel is clean and well-maintained despite looking a little old. The facilities look nice and, in general, the hotel doesn’t look shabby at all.
As for the room, we were surprised and quite amused to see it set up like a
honeymoon suite – complete with a towel swan and rose petals. Just the same,
it gave the room a pleasant and welcoming touch.
The room had air-conditioning, king-size beds, TV, tables, and chairs,
toiletries, telephone, and complimentary breakfast.

The swimming pool |
There were only a few guests at Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel when we stayed there. As such, the hotel was generally quiet and we had all the
amenities to ourselves.
We also loved the overall provincial vibe in and around the hotel; definitely
a welcome break from the everyday stress at the office.
Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel has a swimming pool but it has no other
amenities as compared to bigger hotels.
Room rates
Our room at Subic Waterfront Resort & Hotel |
The Superior Suites that we booked is P3,499 per night while the Family Suites is priced at P8,499 per night. Additional towels, mattresses, sheets, and blankets are for a minimal fee. Take note also that the hotel charges corkage
fee on outside food and drinks.
In terms of payment, you can settle in cash or via credit card.
How to go to Subic, Zambales
If you are bringing your own car, drive to North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and
Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX). Exit SCTEX and then drive to Subic.
If you prefer to travel by bus, you can ride any bus bound for Olongapo City.
From there, you can ride a jeep or a taxi to Subic.
What to do in Subic
There are a lot of things to do in Subic although we have not tried these yet.
Here are some of the top activities in Subic:
- Trekking in Subic’s nature trails
- Snorkeling and diving
- Beach bumming
- Yacht cruise
- Visiting mangroves
However, what we love to do in Subic is to visit duty-free shops and buy food items in bulk for our home. I’m sure you’d enjoy doing the same when you are
also in Subic.
